WE ARE OPEN WITH COVID-19 PRACTICES IN EFFECT ~ PLEASE STAY SAFE EVERYONE
Hello everyone, my name is Camille and I'm Pet Pawsitive's Weekend's Supervisor. I joined Pet Pawsitive as a Junior Pet Care Specialist in July of 2020 after moving back to Belleville from Black Creek, British Columbia.
I completed the Animal Care Aide Certificate program in May of 2020 at North Island College in Courtenay, BC. Previously to that, I completed college level writing and tourism courses. I have experience handling and caring for animals of all species and sizes, including wildlife such as Bald Eagles, Harbour Seals, Owls and Songbirds. I volunteered with local 4H clubs, animal shelters and wildlife rescues while I lived in British Columbia. I am also a contributor to various citizen science initiatives including, but not limited to, one for the identification of Humpback whales on the west coast.
I have always had a love for animals and a desire to work with them, so when the opportunity came up to join Pet Pawsitive’s Team I jumped at it because it was the perfect opportunity for me. This is my first true animal related job I have had in a very long time, as I was previously working in private security both in British Columbia and Ontario.
I have one cat at home currently, he is a Kurilian Bobtail, Manx cross named Orka. He’s named Orka not because he is black and white, but because when I got him he had white eyepatches like a Killer whale. Orka is a raw fed cat, and was even a model for a raw food company in Vancouver, BC. He likes to go for walks outside on his harness and watch the world go by. In the past though, I have had dogs, parrots, geckos, goats, chickens, pigeons and other reptiles as pets, so you can see I bring lots of experience with me to Pet Pawsitive.
I look forward to welcoming you all at Pet Pawsitive!
